When competition works - Google Maps edition
The introduction of Apple Maps didn't go well as version 1.0 of the product wasn't good enough. But an effect of the change was increased competition and that Google really has upped the quality of Google Maps on the iPhone.
As an almost daily user of maps, the outcome actually turned out for the better (even if it was painful for sometime between upgrading to iOS 6 and the release of the stand-alone Google Maps app).
