Please don't get a 404 error

...as Amazon has been awarded a U.S. patent on how to redirect a user to a more relevant page than a standard 404: page not found page. I imagine that it will likely not be a problem to find prior art and have the patent invalidated.

Yep, had that years ago. If you tried to access /blog/some-stuff-that-no-longer-exists.html the 404 page would redirect you to a search for "some stuff that no longer exists". That was in 2003, I'm certain I wasn't the first.
