In 2006 Mozilla Foundation, makers of Firefox and Thunderbird,
had revenue of $66.8 million, with 85 % coming from Google. Google doesn't need a browser of its own, for all intent and purposes Firefox does what Google needs. 1) Chipping away market share from Internet Explorer and 2) getting Google default search distribution.
